Actual Drawing 7.4

Actual Drawing is a visual publishing tool that helps you make Web pages without you having to know HTML, allowing you to drag and drop page content. The program has its own image-manipulation tools so you don't need to use a third-party image editor. Web page content can be drawn with various effects such as glow, shadow, or transparency. Resolution-independent vector layers can be resized without loss of quality. The program has easy-to-use tools for preparing custom rollover buttons; it creates necessary images and JavaScript. In addition, Actual Drawing has
features for publishing your site, creating forms, and making Web albums. You can check broken links and submit your pages to search engines. The program also features a batch processor and ready-to-use JavaScript.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS4

Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 is the first rollout of this Web design application since Adobe acquired Macromedia. Is it the same Dreamweaver as before?Installation time has doubled, not including Adobe's mandatory registration process. Once installed, Dreamweaver looks more like Adobe's other products, but it will be familiar to users of previous versions. There are some new, dockable palettes for new features, but the Welcome screen, toolbars, and main window are largely unchanged.CSS support now features a large array of templates and new tools to help manage styles, and commentary on how best to use the CSS--including Internet Explorer workarounds. Improved integration means you can drag a Photoshop file directly to Dreamweaver, and select and copy any area of a PS image, including layers, and paste it into Dreamweaver.
Adobe's new Spry framework for Ajax is a JavaScript library of code snippets that makes it easy to add client-side behaviors. It's broken into Effects, which are animations, Data, which binds dynamic data to HTML, and Widgets, which create interactive elements such as pop-up menus.
Those learning the baby steps of Web design should take a class or read some books before diving in. Dreamweaver's advanced features won't be intuitive for anyone who hasn't studied them first. But because of the high price tag, we don't recommend upgrading to CS3 as a standalone product.

CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2008

Suitable for both Web-design newbies and HTML hotshots, CoffeeCup 2008 introduces a new CSS and HTML autocompletion tool to join its well-known WYSIWYG and standard HTML editors.
It continues to offer powerful features melded to a straightforward and compact interface that is organized by tabs--perfect for keeping track of multiple projects. Its advanced features include HTML and CSS scripting, Flash animations, and drag-and-drop Java scripts. Beginners, meanwhile, get an excellent tutorial and a WYSIWYG editor that supports simple drag-and-drop. Heavily trafficked support forums are also available. An extensive array of samples and templates includes site designs and JavaScript-based widgets such as calendars and calculators.
You also get a complete list of tags. Inserting an image, a table, a list, or a DHTML menu is a snap. Tabbed editing lets you simultaneously change multiple pages, and a built-in FTP client facilitates one-click uploading. The status bar displays valid usage suggestions, and you even get a built-in thesaurus. Full-featured and easy to use, users who are worried about the $50 price tag should be comforted by the fact that it includes lifetime free upgrades.
